Exploring Madeira on foot was an incredible adventure. The trails offered a variety of experiences, from dramatic cliffside paths to lush levadas (irrigation channels) winding through the forests. The island’s unique landscapes were unlike anything I’ve seen before. Samo was fantastic, providing clear guidance and tips on which trails to prioritize based on my interests. The accommodations were excellent, and the local cuisine was a delightful bonus. This walking holiday introduced me to the wonders of Madeira, and I’ll definitely be back!
Did the Eastern Madeira walking holiday. The hikes were lovely though some were crowded. But they were crowded cause the view was great. So can't skip loved the ocean side cliffs for a couple days and then the forests along levadas. We had a misunderstanding with the driver as he thought we should have finished sooner. So give them a reasonable estimate. He never asked and his estimate caused all the issues. But we whatsapped the company and they set it straight. Food is good in the towns. We packed lunch everyday as some of those places along the way had long lines. We went a day early and did a sightseeing day with their driver and it also helped with jet lag. Hikes are pretty moderate, so you have energy to enjoy the town in the evenings. The Island is beautiful ❤️
I did the Fisherman Trail in Portugal mid April and I had a fantastic time. The trip was well organized and the luggage transfer seamless. The maps were clear and easy to navigate, and always got me to my destination safe and sound. And the accommodations felt like a complete splurge, especially the B&B. And of course the views along the trail were amazing. Definitely would recommend booking with them!
Walking Holidays Slovenia is great! They provided all of the information and made the arrangements for our self guided walk in Triglav National Park. We hiked to Vodnikov Dom the first day, then to the Seven Lakes Basin the second day, then back to Ribcev Laz the third day. The trails were well marked, and the GPS app recommended by Walking Holidays Slovenia was very helpful for keeping us on track. The trails were very rocky in places, which was a bit of a challenge for us, but it was so beautiful! Very much recommend this company!
We had an incredible time on the 5 day hut to hut hike in Croatia. The views were perfect, the accommodation much nicer than we imagined and we had a fantastic support guide - Ivan - who was very friendly and made the whole trip possible. We were also able to go to the beach most days after we finished our hiking and everything was very flexible. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
1) Stunningly beautiful places with perfect weather! Good balance of countryside and old city walking. 2) The Trip App was incredible!!! 5 stars! Loved the write ups on each location. The links to all restaurants, hotels, attractions, tickets! The GPS app also worked. 3) PERFECTLY located hotels and rooms with two beds and thoughtful staff! Loved being right in the old towns with amazing views. I did not mind carrying bags up or down in order to have the locations but much appreciated when we did have help with this 4) Breakfast being included with the rooms (even though there was a mix up the first morning). I don't like to have to plan breakfast spots and the buffets were incredible. 5) The kindness and promptness of the drivers, Nice transport vehicles and easy drop off and pick up points. Plus help with our bags. 6) The Walking Holidays Croatia team was helpful and easy to work with. We appreciate all they did to customize out trip.
Cycling & Walking in Slovenia: This was a brilliant holiday - the country is perfect for mixing cycling and walking - compact, great infrastructure, super friendly people and stunning scenery. The itinerary is “about right” but would be vastly improved if there were a few options each day for both cycling and hiking routes. We used the cycling routes as a “base” and added from there, but after the first hike we took to the cicerone guide book to provide us with the walking routes. The hire bikes (A2U) were great quality. The hotels were lovely but seemed surprised we arrived with bikes! The bag transfers were a bit patchy arriving after 2pm (but just before 4) on one day - so don’t assume everything will arrive before you on a cycle transfer day.
I was admittedly nervous about booking this trip and trusting that all of the pieces would fall into place. We had transportation to and from airports, luggage transportation, multiple hotels and mountain huts booked…a lot of moving pieces. I’m delighted to report that it was all seamless and that our trip to Slovenia was the trip of a lifetime! The hotels chosen were gorgeous and comfortable. Transportation was perfect. Everything was exactly as it should be: complete perfection! And Slovenia: this country now holds our heart!

My husband and I recently completed a Walking Holiday of the Amalfi Coast for 11 days, which was absolutely fantastic and the highlight of our trip to Italy. The travel agents who organised the tour Anja and Samo were very helpful, adjusting and customising it to suit our requests. The accomodation booked for us was very comfortable and the transfer of our luggage from hotel to hotel took place with no issues. Our hiking guides including Alessandra, Marcella and Diego were all exceptional. They were friendly, supportive and extremely knowledgable about the towns and regions we walked in. They ensured we had a fantastic experience creating memories, while enjoying the walking, the amazing views, the tasty food and the beautiful Italian culture. I highly recommend this walking tour and would encourage anyone who was planning a similar holiday to book through this company. It was a great way to see and experience the Amalfi Coast.

The route took us through a beautiful part of the country on quiet roads and cycle paths. The cycle paths are much better than in the UK and I would also like to say that Slovenian car drivers are much more patient and tolerant than many drivers in the UK. Beautiful country. We very much appreciated all her efforts. The hikes were beautiful and we would book with Anja again.
